I ordered this book without knowing what a Slow Cooker is. The title sounded interesting to me. Then I found out that it is an electric pot with thermostat and timer.
As I had not seen any Slow Cookers in the stores in Europe (maybe in England you can find them) I decided to use my conventional owen. In a glass bowl with lid I put a piece of meat after having browned it in a frying pan. Some vegetables were also browned and spices added. I then set the heat at 95 °C and let the bowl with the lid on in the owen for about 10 hours. The result was a very tasty piece of meat with vegetables. I made the gravy as usual.
Even if you do not have a Slow Cooker, this book is worthwhile to buy. The recipes are great.
